Kelly Smith is a Capetonian creative, curator and certified TRE® Provider who believes that the stories our bodies tell are just as vital as the ones we speak. With over two decades of experience in publishing and content marketing by day, she’s also a passionate organiser of intimate story-rich spaces for the LGBTQI+ community by night. Over the past decade she has curated boundary-pushing, body-positive events such as The Unofficial Pink Party, Naked Girls Reading Cape Town, Raunchy Renditions and Queer Reading Room – each blending play and vulnerability. Whether guiding people through somatic healing or creating spaces where queer stories take centre stage, she is committed to connection, liberation and telling the truth – on the page, on the stage and in the body.
She also had the great pleasure of editing the acclaimed LGBTQI+ anthology They Called Me Queer as well as the African speculative fiction digital anthology, Our Move Next.
