Hedley Twidle is a writer, teacher and researcher based at the University of Cape Town. His focus is on twentieth-century, southern African and world literatures, as well as narrative non-fiction and the environmental humanities. In 2017, he published a collection of essays, Firepool, with Kwela Books. Experiments with Truth, a study of life writing and the South African transition, appeared in 2019. His work has appeared in a range of international publications, including the New Statesman, Financial Times and Harper’s magazine.
