OPEN BOOK CAPE TOWN

Open Book Programme Goes Live!

We’re excited to announce that the programme is out!

It’s been such a long time since we last had the opportunity to come together and celebrate the books we’ve loved, find new reads, meet people and exchange ideas about some of the challenges we face. It’s a privilege to have worked on this programme and we hope you enjoy it as much as we done have planning it.

As is often the case, the events deal with subjects that are not easy for any of us. What we know – from past experience – is that the simple act of coming together can allow for the overwhelming to become manageable. For laughter to find its way in. For conversations to continue long after the event is over.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, Bertha House is hosting us for the weekend of the festival, as well as for the workshops we are running. It’s an incredible space run by a team that is a pleasure to work with.

Please note that masks must be worn at all times unless participating in an event from the stage, or eating. There are sanitizing stations throughout the venue.
Books will be on sale at Bertha House for the duration of the festival. For those who would like to get reading immediately, all books are available for purchase or pre-order through the Book Lounge.

Once you have made your choices, you can book through Webtickets as in the past. Note that you will need to log in to Webtickets in order to book.
There are two ticket packages available:
5 for 4: Book 5 tickets for the price of 4 (R200)
10 for 8: Book 10 tickets for the price of 8 (R400)
Be aware that due to Covid restrictions, space is limited and booking is essential. Due to this challenge, we are also limited in the number of complimentary tickets we are able to issue. If you would like to be considered, please email openbooktickets@gmail.com.

As always, there are likely to be changes, so please keep your eye on our website for updates.

If you have any questions or need further detail about the participants, the books or the venue (including Covid protocol), please get in touch with Vasti.
