Xolela Mangcu is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Cape Town. He has held fellowships at the Brookings Institution, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Rockefeller Foundation. He is the author and co-author of seven books, including The Arrogance of Power (2014), Biko: A Biography (2012) and To the Brink: The State of Democracy in South Africa (2008). Colour of our Future is due in 2015.
