Mackenzie Berry

Mackenzie Berry is from Louisville, Kentucky. She is a May 2019 graduate in the 10th cohort of the First Wave Hip Hop & Urban Arts Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served in several university fellowships for various community, research, and arts projects. She is the co-founder and former co-director of UpRise Poetry Collective on the UW-Madison campus and founded and formerly served as Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Young Poets of Louisville. Her poetry has been published in Vinyl Poetry & Prose, Up the Staircase QuarterlyHobart, and Broadsided Press, and she has performed poetry and facilitated writing workshops at various locations in the United States, including the National Civil Rights Museum and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Keystone Conference
