Ingrid de Kok is the award-winning author of 7 collections of poetry. Her most recent is Unleaving, Fourthwall Books, 2024. Vetplant Fairies is her children’s book in collaboration with poet Antjie Krog & artist Fiona Moodie Her work has been translated into 10 languages, is taught around the world, and she has read at numerous national & international literary festivals. She was resident at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Centre, the Civitella Ranieri Foundation & DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program. Among her awards are the Herman Charles Bosman Prize for English Literature, the South African Literary Award, the Ritratti di Poesia Prize from Fondazione Cultural e Arte in Rome, a Molteno Gold Medal from Khula Cape Foundation & the 2025 AVBOB JDL Award for Poetry. She recently wrote a libretto for composer Neo Muyana’s short opera Euridice, performed in April at JHB’s Centre for the Less Good Idea.
