Daniel Hugo debuteer in 1981 in die bundel Brekfis met vier. Dit word gevolg deur talle digbundels van sy eie, onder andere Die klein aambeeld, Verse van die ongeloof, Monnikewerk en Die twaalfde letter. Hy werk by die SABC in Kaapstad van 1988 tot 2008 en is deesdae ‘n vryskuttaalpraktisyn. Sy mees onlangse publikasies is die digbundel, Takelwerk en die vertaling van Saskia Goldschmidt se roman De hormoonfabriek (Die hormoonfabriek).

Daniel Hugo debuted in 1981 with Brekfis met vier, followed a number of poetry collections including Die klein aambeeld, Verse van die ongeloof, Monnikewerk¬†and Die twaalfde letter. He worked at the SABC in Cape Town from 1988 till 2008 and now works as a freelance language practitioner. Most recently, he has published the poetry collection, Takelwerk, and¬†Die hormoonfabriek, a translation of Saskia Goldschmidt’s novel.
