This workshop will focus on using the work of others, with an emphasis on South African poets, to inspire our own writing. We will spend time thinking about the ways we can create our own writing prompts from a poem, talk about writing poems after other poems/art and spend time putting what we’ve learnt into practice with writing exercises. Our aim is for poets of all levels to leave feeling they can combat “writer’s block” by reading to inspire themselves. Facilitated by Melissa Sussens and Jacques Coetzee of Red Wheelbarrow.
