Weaving stories of food through the lens of place and space Zayaan Khan explores the political natures of food, land and space, of access, resilience and mobility.
The tour will start at the District 6 Homecoming Centre as a gathering point (Ground Floor Stadium). Participants will be served a small Cape Malay-inspired snack, then travel to the shoreline to reflect on indigenous food and the natural landscape and resources (again a snack will be provided), then to a farmer on the Cape Flats and the Bellville transport interchange to reflect on the urban food system (agricultural, formal and informal) before returning to the Homecoming Centre.
The tour will take approximately 3 hours.
