WORKSHOP WEEK
5 - 10 JUNE

OPEN BOOK FESTIVAL
8 - 10 SEPTEMBER

The Open Book Youth Fest kicks off this weekend!
See some highlights below.

What would Open Book be without poetry? We’re delighted to have partnered with Red Wheelbarrow to bring 2 Open Mic sessions at Bellville and Elsies River Libraries. Don’t miss the opportunity to perform, listen and engage.

Please note that the Open Mic at Bellville takes place on Tuesday the 28th March (we previously listed it as Wednesday the 28th!)

In addition to the Open Mic, Bellville is hosting the amazing Refiloe Moahloli. Her books are fantastic and you’ll definitely want to catch her.

Bertha House is so much more than a space, and we are delighted to have Philippa Namutebi Kabalai-Kagwa and Gcina Mhlophe hosting what we know will be a powerful storytelling event.

The Book Lounge will be hosting several events over the Fest, including a discussion about writing children’s books and a storytime and activity session with Gcina Mhlophe that closes the festival.

There’s loads to experience in the coming week, so please take some time to check out the programme.
