JUST A FEW DAYS LEFT TO GO – HERE ARE THE FINAL DETAILS

The Open Book Festival 2026 is only a few days away and we have a few updates and reminders for you.

PROGRAMME CHANGES

Cynthia Fan is unfortunately no longer able to join us.

In her place, we are delighted to welcome Alexandra Dodd for The World We Want (Saturday 5th | 12:00-13:00).

Mia Arderne for Delighting in Craft (Sunday 6th | 10:00-11:00).

And XAM=|OAXAIAE for New Worlds in Bloom (Sunday 6th | 16:30-18:00).

REMINDERS

Factor in extra time for parking.

City parking is tricky and tight, and you may spend more time looking for parking than expected. Make sure you give yourself enough leeway for this when arriving for your event.

Tickets can be bought at the door.

We strongly recommend booking ahead of time to avoid disapointment but if you arrive on the day the WebTickets Box Office in the HCC Foyer has you covered.

GIVEAWAY TIME!

Our WhatsApp group is growing and now is the perfect time to join for all the weekend updates.
We are hosting an exclusive giveaway of books to one lucky person who joins the group in the coming days.

The group is vital to stay in the loop regarding any changes that might arise on the day.

In addition to this we offer giveaways and exclusive content throughout the year.
No spam – we promise!

COMPETITION CLOSES on Thursday at midnight! The winner must be able to collect their prize at the festival this weekend.

CAN YOU NO LONGER MAKE IT TO YOUR EVENT?

If you find you are no longer able to attend an event you have booked for, please let us know, especially if you know the session is fully booked or has an extremely limited capacity. In many cases we have a waiting list, and this allows us to make those tickets available to others.

Email frankie@openbookfestival.co.za to let us know.

Specific sessions that are already fully booked are:
All three ‘Poet in the Tent’ events
Curating Men
Beyond Dystopia
Moments at Lovedale Press.

AVAILABLE TICKET TYPES

Ticket options now include Early Access and Wheelchair Seating to suit those with different needs.

General Admission is for audience members who don’t need extra accommodations.

Please ensure that you book the correct ticket type for you!
