Thembelihle Dunjana, a jazz pianist, singer and teacher from Gugulethu, Cape Town. She is the recipient of 2 Mzantsi jazz awards for “best female in jazz” and “best jazz song” for her song from her debut album entitled “Intyatyambo”, from the double disc album.
Thembi has recently been nominated for a Basdi in Music jazz category for best female in jazz as well as Mzansi Musical Instrumental awards for the best jazz pianist. She is best known for not only her performance talents, but for her teaching and mentoring in the jazz idiom, for learners who are interested in pursuing a career in music. She has performed at the Oslo Jazz festival and Cape Town jazz festival. She recently played at Dizzy’s jazz club in New York City in March of 2023 and has guest lectured at various music institutions in New York.
