Silindele Mayipasi

Silindele Mayipasi was born in 2007, and met Jason Makiti in Grade 9 while attending Curro Foreshore in Cape Town. From early on, they shared a strong interest in storytelling and creative expression. In Grade 11, Jason began developing a story idea, which Silindele soon joined. What started as a simple concept quickly evolved into something much bigger. Through continuous writing and collaboration, we built a world and narrative that would later become Belgrado, a story they both connected with deeply and chose to develop further.

In their matric year (2025), they entered the Curro Create national competition, submitting the first act of Belgrado as a scripted TV series. The first Act, consisting of three episodes, received the Kryptonite Award (top honour) for its storytelling and execution.

In July 2025, they co-founded Celio Entertainment, a creative studio focused on developing original African storytelling across multiple platforms.

Currently, they are preparing the launch of Belgrado as a cinematic novel series, beginning with the release of Book 1, 2, 3, 4 and two spinoff books across digital platforms, with a long-term vision to expand into visual storytelling, webtoons, and screen adaptation.
