Qarnita Loxton was born in Cape Town where she studied law at UCT and worked as an attorney. Her first novel, Being Kari was published in 2017, followed by Being Lily (2018), Being Shelley (2019) and Being Dianne (2021). She is the co-author of Chasing Marian, written together with Amy Heydenrych, Pamela Power and Gail Schimmel.
Her latest novel, What’s Wrong with June was published in 2024.
