Pralini Naidoo

Pralini Naidoo is a poet, storyteller, writing facilitator, and editor. She has authored Wild has Roots, a collection of poems, reflections and short stories. Her poems centre primarily on the meditative art of noticing the every-day, and are also explorations into buried and inner worlds. Using poetry and storytelling, she has facilitated workshops and retreats, centred on the reclamation of personal voice and story. As a descendent of the indentured who were brought to South Africa for the purposes of extractive colonial agriculture, her PhD research has explored the multiple exploitations on women, land, and the more-than-human. As a Black woman and mother, Pralini is passionate about social and environmental justice. When she is not writing, Pralini offers yoga and grounding practices, and communes with the ocean.
