Nondwe Mpuma was born eMaXesibeni in the Eastern Cape province. She holds an MA Creative Writing degree from the University of the Western Cape, where she currently lectures. Her work has been published widely in South Africa and abroad. In 2017 she won the 2017 Patricia Schonstein Poetry in McGregor Award. She is one of the hosts of The Red Wheelbarrow Society based in Cape Town. Peach Country is her debut poetry collection.
