Nic le Roux is a trans-identified activist and scholar working at the intersection of anti-racism, spatial justice, and LGBT politics. In addition to teaching tertiary students in queer and feminist studies, they have worked extensively with storytelling activist and research methodologies from performance to activist theatre and art modalities. They co-founded an NGO called I Am Somebody! that used storytelling in long term youth mentorship programmes in Cape Town. They also worked extensively in sexual and reproductive justice activism and research. le Roux received a PhD from UMass Amherst in Education and Certificate in Feminist Studies and a Masters in International Development from Clark University.
