Ming-Cheau Lin is a first generation Taiwanese immigrant and was raised in Bloemfontein. She’s worked in advertising agencies as a copywriter and in 2015, she also co founded the Cape Town Rollergirls NPO as the marketing & PR chair and a roller derby skater before retiring to write about identity and feminism through the lens of food.
She is now a freelance copywriter and runs a food blog – Butterfingers. She is the author of Just Add Rice – stories and recipes by a Taiwanese South African (2018), the first locally published East Asian cookbook. Just Add Rice was also selected as a national finalist in two categories at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2019. Her memoir, Yellow and Confused – born in Taiwan, raised in South Africa and trying to make sense of it all, will be published in September 2019.
