Max du Preez is a well known author, award winning journalist and documentary film maker. He was the founding member of Vrye Weekblad, the first Afrikaans anti-apartheid newspaper and remained its editor until it was closed down in 1994. He is the author of a number of books in both English and Afrikaans, including his memoir, Pale Native, which was runner-up for the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award, Of Warriors, Lovers and Prophets and Of Tricksters, Tyrants and Turncoats. He is the editor of Opinion Pieces by South African Thought Leaders.
