Mapule Mohulatsi is a Lecturer in English Literary Studies at the University of Cape Town. Her research interests span across black intellectual traditions, black aesthetics and the deep ocean, recipes and food cultures as well as slave memory in South Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas. Her essays have appeared in The Johannesburg Review of Books, The Mail and Guardian, Brittle Paper and her short stories are published in Joburg Noir, edited by Niq Mhlongo, Hair: Weaving & Unpicking Stories of Identity, edited by Joanne Hichens and Karina M. Szczurek amongst others. Her children’s book Mizz President was published in 2018 by Everychild Books.
