Lisa Julie is a writer, performer and literary scholar. She is a Mellon Mays fellow, has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of the Western Cape, and is completing a PhD on literary pedagogies. She currently lectures in the English department at UNISA and is based in Pretoria. She is one of the organisers of The Red Wheelbarrow Poetry Collective. Her poetry has been published in several anthologies and literary journals, including Cutting Carrots the Wrong Way (uHlanga, 2017), New Contrast, New Coin, Taking Liberties, and, most recently, Memories in Our Throats, published by Karavan Press.
