Landa Mabenge is the author of Becoming Him – A Trans Memoir of Triumph (MFBooks). Born a boy in a girl’s body, he is the first known South African transgender man to successfully motivate a medical aid to fund his gender affirming surgery. A UCT graduate, he is a transgender activist and educationalist through his consultancy, Landa Mabenge Consulting. In 2017 he was selected as a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow.
