Kimon de Greef is a freelance journalist from Cape Town. He has written for the New York Times, National Geographic and The Guardian, among other publications, with a particular focus on illicit trades. He began researching abalone poaching in 2013, as part of a Conservation Biology Masters at the University of Cape Town. Poacher is his first book.
