Jostein Gaarder

Jostein Gaarder is the author of several novels, short stories and children’s books, including The Orange Girl, The Christmas Mystery and The Ringmaster’s Daughter. Sophie’s World has been translated into 60 languages and has sold over 40 million copies. He has been an active supporter of human rights and sustainable development and in 1997, together with Siri Dannevig, he established the Sophie Prize, an annual award for environmental development.

His most recent novel translated into English is The World According to Anna (2015).
