Jordan Pieters

Jordan Pieters is an aspiring revolutionary deeply immersed in documentary filmmaking, writing, poetry, social activism, historiography, polemics, and cultural advocacy. As a member of the ‘Born-Free’ generation, Jordan grapples with the complexities of a history that is often glossed over in favour of celebrating hard-won freedoms.

Jordan’s academic journey saw her enrol as a law student at the University of Cape Town, where she also became a prominent Fees Must Fall activist. In recent years, Jordan has focused on curating conversations about the ongoing impact of apartheid and the challenges of nation-building in South Africa. She founded the Cape Youth Collective, a vibrant organisation of 60 young activists dedicated to addressing pressing social issues.

At the core of Jordan’s mission is the belief in the transformative power of community. She is dedicated to empowering young people to take an active role in shaping their futures, moving beyond being mere audience members or statistics. Her work is a testament to her commitment to fostering genuine change through candid dialogue, reflection, and proactive engagement.
