Joanne Jowell has a Masters in Creative Writing and worked in management consulting before making the decision to focus on her writing. She co-founded a literacy programme called Word 4 Word. She combines her fascination with human issues and her background in psychology with her love of the written word by specialising in writing biographies. Her books include On the Other Side of Shame: An Extraordinary Account of Adoption and Reunion (2009), Finding Sarah: A true story of living with bulimia (2011) and Winging It (2018).
