Jason Jacobs is currently pursuing a Masters in Theatre Making at the Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies. Jacobs was honoured in 2017 by Kunste Onbeperk, Klein Karoo National Arts Festival for his contribution to South African Theatre and Performing Arts. He is a recipient of the Theatre Arts Admin Collective Emerging Theatre Director’s Bursary. He is a playwright, translator and theatre-maker with highly successful productions under his belt. As a published writer and performer of poetry, Jacobs headlined twice at the Naked Word Festival, founded by Lingua Franca. After being nominated for a Fleur du Cap in the best new director category, Jacobs co-directed the annual award ceremony in 2017. He wrote and directed his first film, Nama Swaan, which is available on Showmax.
