Irene Muchemi-Ndiritu was born in Nairobi and currently lives in Cape Town with her husband and three kids. After moving to the United States to attend college in San Diego, she graduated cum laude with a BA in international relations and later earned an MA in journalism from Columbia University. Muchemi-Ndiritu has worked as a journalist in New York City, Washington D.C., and Boston. She has also received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Cape Town, graduating with distinction.
Irene Muchemi-Ndiritu has been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. Lucky Girl is her first novel.
