Born in Durban, Imraan Coovadia has lived in London, Melbourne and New York. He is currently based in Cape Town where he lectures in the English Department at the University of Cape Town. He is the author of several novels, including High Low In-between (Sunday Times Fiction Prize in 2010 as well as the University of Johannesburg Prize) as well as a collection of essays, Transformations (2012), and Tales of the Metric System (2014). His latest novel, A Spy in Time, is due out in August 2018.
