Hilda J. Twongyeirwe was born in Kacerere village, on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, among the Bakiga of South Western Uganda. Today she juggles life as a mother, development worker, writer, community participant and much more. She works for FEMRITE – Uganda Women Writers Association, where she has coordinated writing activities for women in Uganda, South Sudan, and the US. She is a recipient of the Uganda government medal in recognition of her contribution to women emancipation through literary arts. Twongyeirwe believes in social justice and feminist principles for equal dignity for humanity. She is passionate about mountain climbing, a sport that shines light on her face.
