Hennie van Vuuren works on issues of secrecy, access to information and corruption and is the director of Open Secrets. He has worked at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation, Institute for Security Studies in Cape Town and for Transparency International in Berlin. A past fellow of the Open Society Foundation for South Africa he is active in Right2Know campaign. Together with Paul Holden he co-authored The Devil in the Detail: How the arms deal changed everything (2011). His most recent book, Apartheid Guns and Money: A tale of profit was published in 2017.
