Genna Gardini

Genna Gardini is a writer based in Cape Town. She holds an MA in Playwriting from UCT and was a 2016 Fellow at the Institute for the Creative Arts. Gardini won the 2012 New Coin Poetry Prize and was named one of the Mail & Guardian’s Young South Africans in 2013. She co-founded the award-winning theatre company Horses’ Heads Productions and is a member of the playwriting collective PlayRiot. Gardini’s debut poetry collection Matric Rage received a Commendation for the 2016 Ingrid Jonker prize. She currently works as a Drama lecturer at CityVarsity and is the Poetry Editor for Prufrock.
