Elsibe Loubser McGuffog is a writer of poetry and children’s books and an educator. She is a self-taught fine artist and her fabric art has been exhibited at various galleries. Elsibe’s first poems appeared in 2000 in Afrikaans. A poetry anthology, The Poetry Whisperer, from her 2025 workshop, held under the auspices of SACEE and Iziko Museums, combines her own poetry with art and poems written by workshop attendees.
