Dr Daniel Cunnama is an astronomer and science engagement professional at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO). He obtained his PhD in Computational Cosmology from the University of the Western Cape and held postdoctoral positions in galaxy formation and radio astronomy before joining the SAAO. He is the Science Engagement Astronomer at SAAO, where he leads national outreach initiatives, develops exhibitions, and represents South African astronomy to diverse audiences. Dr Cunnama is also the co-creator and co-host of The Cosmic Savannah Podcast, which highlights African astronomy and the scientists behind it.
