    Dana Snyman is op Stellenbosch gebore. Na ’n kort, onsuksesvolle universiteitsloopbaan, werk hy onder meer as veiligheidswag, skakelbordoperateur, en boekwinkelklerk. Met die genade van Bo beland hy in die joernalistiek. Hy werk eers as misdaadverslaggewer by Beeld, daarna skryf hy vir Huisgenoot oor enigiets van bomontploffings tot die wereld-kettieskiet-kampioenskappe. Van 2004 tot 2008 was hy die reistydskrif Weg se reisskrywer. Sy rubrieke en stories verskyn steeds geereeld in die dagblaaie en talle tydskrifte, meestal Huisgenoot. Vir sy skryfwerk het Dana reeds talle Mondi- en Pica-toekennings sowel as ATKVeertjies ontvang. Sy boeke is ook telkens topverkopers.

    Dana Snyman started his journalism career as a crime reporter at Beeld and later worked as a features writer at Huisgenoot. He joined the travel magazine Wegbreek (the name was later changed to Weg) as a travel writer and columnist in 2004 and later became the travel editor at Weg. These days he’s a fulltime freelance writer of, among other things, magazine articles and columns. His latest book, In die blou kamp, is due in 2015.
