He was born an April fool in sub-arctic Canada and has lived well over half his life in South Africa and Swaziland mainly as a poet, singer, guitarist, and performer, but also as a recording artist, indie publisher, visual artist, collaborator, educator, volunteer and instigator. He has shared stages with Linton Kwesi Johnson, Saul Williams, Madosini, Derek Gripper and Lesego Rampolokeng.

His latest book and cd, Driftword, published by UNISA Press was launched at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown this year.
