Chase Rhys is an award-winning author, columnist, playwright, and screenwriter based in Cape Town. Chase’s latest book, Misfit – stories vannie anne kant, is a captivating collection of tales inspired by their lived experiences as an neurodiverse, queer, agendered individual. Their debut novel, Kinnes, received widespread acclaim, earning them the prestigious K. Sello Duiker Prize and the kykNET-Rapport Prize and is an adaptation of their Adam Small Award winning theatre production of the same name. In addition to their literary accomplishments, Chase also contributes to the Rapport newspaper with their bi-weekly column, “Suikewate.”
