Brent Meersman is the co-editor of GroundUp News. He was the Mail & Guardian’s theatre critic for well over a decade and also its food writer. A compulsive traveller, at last count he’d been to more than 60 countries, including the Antarctic, resulting in a travel memoir, 80 Gays Around the World (Missing Ink; 2014), which was translated into German. He has also published a collection of poetry, Ophila and the Poet and other poems (2010). His novels include Primary Coloured (Human & Rousseau; 2007), and the first two parts of the “RSA” trilogy Reports Before Daybreak (Umuzi; 2011) and Five Lives at Noon (Missing Ink; 2013). His latest work, Sunset Claws (2017), completes the trilogy and includes the full and reworked narrative of the previous two novels.
