Bibi Burger received her PhD from Stellenbosch University in 2016. From 2016 until June 2022 she was an Afrikaans lecturer at the University of Pretoria. In June 2022 she joined the Afrikaans and Netherlandic section in the School of Languages and Literatures at the University of Cape Town. Bibi has published on ecocriticism, space in South African literature, queer speculative fiction and other topics. She is currently working on a project investigating the role of race in Afrikaans feminist literature.
