Azille Coetzee is a postdoctoral researcher in gender and decolonisation at the Centre for Historical Trauma and Transformation, Stellenbosch University. She has a PhD in philosophy from the Free University of Amsterdam and Stellenbosch University. She is the writer of In my vel (Tafelberg), a memoir exploring whiteness and Afrikaner identity. Her research is published in various international feminist journals and sometimes she writes for local Afrikaans publications like Vrye Weekblad, LitNet and Rapport. Her debut novel, Die Teenoorgestelde Is Net So Waar, was published in 2021.
