Vusumuzi Lovejoy Mpofu is a 19-­year old Zimbabwean national residing in Cape Town, South Africa. He began writing and performing poetry in 2014. His work is centred around his personal experiences and searching for life purpose through spoken word. He was a feature poet at the Open Book Festival in 2015. He won KACF Poetry Slam 2015 and the Kraaifontein Arts Awards for Best Poet (2015). He won the KACF Poetry Slam 2016 and was awarded second place at the 2016 Inzync Poetry Slam. He is a resident poet at REPETWAH and a part of the CYPHER programme under the Lingua Franca Spoken Word Movement. He is passionate about language and spoken word.
