Originally from New York, Steven Amsterdam moved to Melbourne in 2003. Things We Didn’t See Coming is his debut novel and will be available in South Africa later this year. It has been very well received and appeared on several longlists and was The Age Book of the Year. Set slightly in the future, the book is made up of nine interconnected stories all a with distopian theme. Apart from becoming an increasingly well known author, he is a palliative care nurse.
