Rico Schacherl is a 46 year old Austrian-born a cartoonist and illustrator who grew up in South Africa and lives and works in a cosy house in a sleepy Johannesburg suburb with his wife Danya and their fluffy cat Charlie. Best known as the artist half of the creative team behind the highly successful syndicated comic strip, Madam & Eve, he has worked on a wide variety of projects including chidlren’s illustration and TV animation design, editorial cartoons and illustration for magazines, newspapers and educational publications both in South Africa as well as international clients in the USA, Switzerland, France and South Korea…always trying to inject as much humour and fun into his work as possible. Rico works in various media including digital, but really enjoys getting his hands dirty working on paper with pen & ink and watercolours.
