Kharnita Mohamed is an anthropologist whose primary research interests lie in the mediation of subject formation, the production of knowledge, gender, race, disability, citizenship and visual culture. She is the co-founder of, and runs Blankets for Blikkies, a community- based organisation in Blikkiesdorp. She is currently working on a book about violence and race in postapartheid South Africa entitled Taxonomies of Violence: Racing the Postapartheid.
