Khanyiso Mabodla was named ‘Most Promising Writer’ at the Naked Poetry Slam competition, and is a Lingua Franca resident poet noted for his ability to write powerfully in both Xhosa and English. A dynamic performer, Mabodla is recognised for his energetic and interactive style of poetry that engages and captivates his audiences. He has performed in poetry in-performance productions Izityhilelo Zobuze, Umzila ka Moya, and Indumiso Zothando.
In April 2018 he travelled to Chicago with Lingua Franca Spoken Word Movement to deliver lectures, workshops and performances at Northwestern University, the Poetry Foundation, and around the city of Chicago.
