Jonny Steinberg

Jonny Steinberg was born and bred in South Africa. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Three-Letter Plague as well as Midlands and The Number, which both won South Africa’s premier non-fiction prize, the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award. Steinberg was educated at the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He joined WiSER in 2015 as a Full Professor as part of Vice Chancellor Adam Habib’s Distinguished Professorships programme. He is a Windham Campbell Prize recipient (2013).
