Daniel Browde attended the University of the Witwatersrand, where he received a BA in English and Archaeology. Since graduating, he worked variously as a researcher, actor, and film editor. In 2001 he was nominated for a Vita Award for best supporting actor for his part in the play Proof. Together with Josh Ryba, he published the graphic novel, Rebirth (2013).
