Alulutho Mbendeni is a 21 year old journalism student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, an aspiring poet as well as an art enthusiast based in the city of Cape Town. She is a member of a writing mentorship programme called The Cape Youth Poetry Hub for Expression and Rhythm(CYPHER) and has competed as part of a four member South African team in San Francisco at the Brave New Voices International Poetry slam in 2017.
